Terms of Service

Last updated: [DATE]
✺ Draft

This page is not final. The marked passages below are decisions we have not made yet, so read them as gaps rather than as statements of what we do. There are 10 of them.

These terms are the agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] for the use of Galleo. The grey boxes explain a section in ordinary language. Only the text outside the boxes is binding.

1. Your account

You must provide an accurate email address and keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for everything done through your account. You must be at least [AGE] to use Galleo. If you use Galleo for an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.

2. What you put into Galleo

You keep every right you already have in what you upload or write. To run the service we need your permission to store, copy, display and adapt that content, and to send parts of it to the providers described in section 4. That permission is limited to operating Galleo for you, lasts only as long as you keep the content here, and ends when you delete it.

You confirm that you have the rights to what you put in, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights or break the law.

3. What Galleo produces

As between you and us, and to the extent the law allows, you own the output Galleo generates from your input. We assign to you whatever rights we may have in that output, if any.

Generative systems do not produce unique results. Another user giving a similar instruction may receive similar output, and we make no claim that any output is original or that using it infringes nobody's rights. Nothing we generate is checked by us for accuracy, and it does not represent our views. You are responsible for reviewing output before you rely on it or publish it, which includes obtaining any permission the material itself requires.

Do not present Galleo's output as human-written where that would mislead someone, and do not use it for legal, medical, financial or other professional advice without a qualified person.

4. AI providers, and training

Producing a result means sending your content to a model provider. Which providers, and what each receives, is listed at [AI PROVIDERS PAGE] and in our Privacy Policy, and we keep that list current.

We do not use your content to train models, and we have no model of our own to train. [WHETHER OUR PROVIDERS MAY TRAIN ON WHAT WE SEND THEM, AND FOR HOW LONG THEY KEEP IT, DEPENDS ON OUR AGREEMENT WITH EACH. STATE IT HERE ONCE THOSE TERMS ARE SETTLED.]

5. Plans, credits and payment

Paid plans renew automatically at the interval you chose until you cancel, and we will tell you before a renewal charge. Cancelling stops the next renewal and does not refund what you have already paid, except where the law requires otherwise. If we raise a price it applies from your next renewal, and we will give you notice first.

AI actions consume credits. Credits are an operating limit on how much work a plan may do, not property and not a currency: they have no cash value and cannot be transferred or redeemed.

  • Your plan's credits are granted each billing period. Unspent credits roll over, up to two months of your plan's allowance in total; above that, a new grant only fills the gap.
  • Credits you buy do not expire and do not count toward that rollover limit.
  • Credits are not refundable, including on cancellation or downgrade.
  • If you downgrade, you keep your balance, but you receive no further monthly grants until it falls below two months of the new plan's allowance.
  • If a workspace runs out mid-action, the action stops and we charge only for the work already done.

Every member of a workspace draws on the workspace's shared credits, and the workspace shows what each member has spent.

6. Publishing

Publishing a piece makes it readable by anyone who has the link, and by search engines unless you say otherwise. You are responsible for what you publish. [WHAT HAPPENS TO A PUBLISHED PAGE WHEN A SUBSCRIPTION LAPSES OR AN ACCOUNT CLOSES.]

If you publish text that Galleo generated, and you are publishing it to inform the public about a matter of public interest, the law in some places requires you to say that it was generated by AI. That duty is yours as the publisher rather than ours, and it does not apply where a person has reviewed the text and takes editorial responsibility for it. We mark generated content so that it can be recognised as such, and we give you a way to label a published page.

We may take down a published page that breaks section 7, and will tell you why.

7. Acceptable use

You may not use Galleo to create or publish material that is unlawful, that harasses or defames someone, that sexualises children, that impersonates a real person or organisation in a way meant to deceive, or that is designed to defraud. You may not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service, resell it without our agreement, or use it to build a competing model.

8. Connected apps and third-party services

You may connect Galleo to an external client such as Claude or ChatGPT. You choose which workspaces the connection reaches and what it may do, you can revoke it at any time in your settings, and you are responsible for what you connect. Those tools are governed by their own terms, not these.

9. Ending it

You may stop using Galleo at any time. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why unless the law stops us.

[POST-TERMINATION RETRIEVAL: HOW LONG CONTENT STAYS AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT AFTER AN ACCOUNT ENDS.]

If we discontinue Galleo, we will give reasonable notice and a period to export your work before it becomes unavailable.

10. What we do not promise

Galleo is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, and section 3 governs output.

11. Liability

[LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, WHICH DEPENDS ON THE JURISDICTION IN SECTION 13 AND IS THE ONE CLAUSE HERE THAT A LAWYER SHOULD WRITE RATHER THAN REVIEW.]

12. Changes to these terms

We will post any change here and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects your rights we will tell you before it takes effect, and continuing to use Galleo after that is your acceptance of it.

13. Governing law
